okokokokok i found a dress (finally)

it’s pricey but i kinda like the fact that i’m grown up enough to buy my own darn dress. and of course it has to be rush ordered because i waited so long. there was also initial drama tonight, so I’m happy that i ended up with something. i’ll tell the story at some point. i won’t post a picture of the dress as to not spoil the surprise but also in case jeff wanders here somehow.

i’ll just say it’s…. unique.

now i really gotta figure out this bridesmaids dress situation. i thought jcrew would be a homerun for me but i also they’d provide me with a nice palatte of colors that go together in a variety of dresses that my b-maids could choose from. not so much.

everything i look at everywhere is either super pastel-y or weird dark, deep colors. suggestions from the peanut gallery?

These are the cards I made to ask all my bridesmaids to be involved in the wedding. Since we (mostly) live in different states, I wanted to find a way to make it personal and special. So I did how I do DIY best — sat myself down and got inspired by materials I already had in my craft stash. Materials included paper (card), stamps, and fabric (adornments). I also found a use for an Empire State Building/skyline stamp from Muji that I’ve been holding onto.

Since the wedding will be in NYC, I wanted to have some sort of fun NY throwback. I found an adorable NYC themed 5 pack of postcards that offer a papercraft of different New York icons — a taxi, coffee and bagel, a food cart, Brooklyn Bridge and Empire State Building (with bonus King Kong!) — and included one with each card.

These were so much fun to make and hopefully a delightful surprise for my bridesmaids to be!
